Inadequate fire protection in shopping malls and other retail outlets may have devastating effects for customers and employees in case of a fire. The use of Minimax fire protection technology substantially contributes to the avoidance of such scenarios. The requirements for fire protection in sales outlets are diverse - therefore solutions are needed which are tailored to the specific areas to be protected. Sales outlets take different forms: from complex shopping centers with many different retail outlets, restaurants and service providers through specialist retail and DIY stores, often with ground floor level functional areas, to small boutique shops. Irrespective of the type of retail outlet, all have publicly accessible areas with fluctuating flows of people. The risks that may lead to a fire in the retail outlet are manifold. Careless smoking, for example, may have dire consequences. Sales outlets also typically operate lighting systems or demonstration devices for long hours on end. This constant load may lead to technical defects and overheating, which can then trigger a fire. In addition, complex facilities in technical auxiliary spaces, e.g. operation and control rooms, require special compliance in regard to fire protection. Flames, smoke, gas emissions, heat – fire has many facets. Minimax has the right fire detectors for the various areas within sales outlets. Their signals converge in the fire detection and extinguishing control panel, which issues an alarm to the people at risk and the fire brigade. In addition, the Minimax panel monitors the installed fire protection system for proper functioning and electrically triggers the extinguishing systems that are not equipped with their own triggering elements, e.g. sprinkler systems. A sprinkler system ensures overall building protection in a sales outlet. Minimax offers a broad range of sprinkler types and special sprinklers that allow for ideal adaptation of the sprinkler system to the respective installation situation in the various protected areas. Areas with special fire risks or deployment conditions require - either in addition to or instead of the sprinkler system - a tailored volume or local protection system. For this reason, deluge systems, Minifog water mist fire extinguishing systems, Oxeo inert gas fire extinguishing systems and MX 1230 fire extinguishing systems are used in sales outlets. The alarm and condition reports issued by the fire protection systems installed by Minimax, as well as by other suppliers, can be visualized on screens by the Inveron hazard management system. Structural fire protection, as well as technical systems by Minimax Mobile Services, such as fire extinguishers, wall hydrants and smoke and heat extraction systems, complete fire protection in sales outlets.
